PRODUCTION + CREATIVE I received an email from Issa (in sierra leone) – requesting my help with their annual report and summary documents. the result is an actual report. not financials! it’s great to see the impact that DCI-SL is making locally. very proud to have been asked. thanks Issa and Manaff in Sierra Leone and Paula in Geneva at the International Secretariat!

DESIGN + PRODUCTION. 2013 stevie® (international business award) marketing – service intro of the year, 2012 summit creative award – silver – specialty item and 2012 imca (insurance marketing + communications association) award – best in show. taking creative and turning it into countless pieces to launch the rsa commercial insurance new branding. fun pieces included the advertising cube above and the broker gift on a separate slide – that held the globe and mail on the day of launch, with belly band indicating pages containing the ad, a celebratory bottle of veuve cliquot and a nifty, divided wine box. the full campaign included countless ads for newsprint and magazine, roll up banners, national email signatures, web pages, a trade show booth, powerpoint presentations… and more. produced in english and french.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION . 2014 gold stevie® (international business award) winner – marketing campaign of the year. the campaign started with training webinars, then rolled out with an e-blast launch to brokers, followed by weekly e-blasts, campaign-branded digital assets, including email signatures, a dedicated web page, online banners tent cards – and a campaign-designed phone script for csrs. RSA needed to engage, educate and train their Atlantic broker partners on new property/auto rates and discounts in NB, NS and PEI, as well as drive the competitive edge through an incentive promotion. as a direct result of the ‘Sizzle Into Summer’ campaign, RSA achieved a staggering 73% uplift on the number of policies written and gross written premium (GWP). across the atlantic region, an average e-blast open rate of 49% and average click-through rate of 20% was achieved during the campaign run.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION + COPY EDITING. a presentation for new partner brokers to introduce to the rsa ‘market’ across canada. part of a larger informational training manual, keeping within brand standards – and using the corporate imagery to tell the story.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION agency UP inc. 2013 stevie® (international business awards) award winner. gold – financial services and insurance cateory. silver – b2b category. bronze – small budget marketing category. launching with an e-blast to brokers, the campaign included direct mail postcards and additional e-blasts that corresponded to each of the five “gears,” cheat sheets for brokers, campaign-branded digital assets, including email signatures, a dedicated web page and online banners.The dedicated web page received a 435% increase in views, and all five of the separate emails that brokers received during the promotion had higher-than-average open rates, driving brokers to submit more and more business. 498 new business submissions were received and 94 new policies were bound during the campaign.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION + ART DIRECTION. for clients who expect more, help them savour the moment with rsa private client iInsurance. new product, new brand. sourcing photography, copy editing, design, layout, production of brochures, email signatures, ads for magazine, banners, posters, web pages, powerpoint presentations, training manuals for brokers.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION. top brokers invited to the cayman islands – part reward for hard work, part sales training. all collateral for the event including itineraries, training manual, golf bag tags, event signage, name tags, menus… and anything else that was needed. a great opportunity to use ‘the other’ corporate colours.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION. a collaboration between rsa and their affiliate, wa (western assusrance). originally designed for the IABO (Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario) trade show, the design – and choice of booth setup – was made with future shows in mind. easy to replace branding on the ‘counter’ and header, easy to set up, easy to tear down… and a small discussion area finshed off the area. one of the three backlit posters showed the co-branding – and could simply be replaced in future. the integrated tv screen showcased digital artwork, and 20 second spots of rsa/wa clients. also included, enough collateral for each line of business to be ready for any client that walked by.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION agency CREATIVE NETWORK art director DAVERAL PRINS. bmo sponsors many events and organizations throughout canada. brand standards still apply, but thankfully – there’s room for creative freedom. collateral varies event to event – but usually includes newspaper and magazine ads, posters of several sizes, digital screens, flyers, buckslips, banners, signage at event and occasionally, promotional items. produced in english or french – location specific.

PRODUCTION agency CREATIVE NETWORK art director DAVERAL PRINS. in-bank brochure introducing bmo mastercard offerings. removable and mailable application has tight specifications for app reader technology, security and postal regulations. a completed app can be self-contained in the business reply envelope (bre) using perfs, glue and folds. produced in english and french.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT + PRODUCTION. working directly with marketing managers, senior project manager (Private Client Group), Director of Product Strategy and Distribution (private banking), this project was a rebrand of account opening multi-page (10+) applications for personal, tfsa, business and US (where applicable) accounts for several lines/sectors. approximately 70 applications, 4 pages shown here. job also included terms and conditions booklets for each series of accounts. approximately 20 multi-page booklets. shown on separate slide. all produced in english and french. apps are fillable, AODA compliant and with full calculating capabilites.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION. working directly with the VP, Sr Mgr Compliance in Chicago, we created a multi-page application – two pages shown here. the app is fillable, AODA ready and has full calculating capabilities. for the US market, english only produced, with careful attention to US spelling preferences.

PRODUCTION + PROJECT MANAGEMENT agency CREATIVE NETWORK art director DAVERAL PRINS. newspaper and magazine ads, posters, business cards, gum packs, inserts, flyers, billboards, tsa, digital screens. produced for branches nationwide. an organizational challenge as each branch supplied individual and group photography. job folder organization and file naming conventions played a huge role in this job – as more than one person could have been working on a docket. produced in english or french – branch specific.

DESIGN + PRODUCTION. working directly with the Director of Wealth Planning Publications, we create quarterly reports (multi-page) with several detailed charts. the challenge is to keep the formatting clean, while keeping some visual interest, as the reports are copy heavy. the other challenge is to use the applications (ie: chart bars in illustrator, chart copy in indesign) efficiently so they can be formatted quickly – but also modified for the french and US versions. produced in english and french. 2 US versions are also produced (wealth management and global asset management lines of business.) the project also includes (generally) single page toolkits for internal clients (sales).

DESIGN + PRODUCTION. working directly with the Director of Wealth Planning Publications, we created a powerpoint for financial planners and their clients looking towards retirement. production included sourcing tock images, creating and preparing images and illustrations; working with client’s charts and graphs to produce crisp images and keeping the entire document within brand standards. e-invites were also created. english, french and global asset management (US) versions produced.

my role PRODUCTION art director JOHN KNAPP creative director DAVERAL PRINS studio CREATIVE NETWORK what a tradeshow booth! with a bit of research, some fairly basic hardware was purchased. with a bit of creativity it looks like no other booth. so much fun to see it come together. best compliment – the clients had no issue with the setup. always important to keep in mind.

CREATIVE + ART DIRECTION a request for christmas cards came from smartsimple, toronto. the turnaround was q.u.i.c.k. but sometimes, that’s when the fun happens. smartsimple is full of tech-heads so, what better way to represent than a circuitboard tree and robots. postcards were created, to keep costs down – and to show off the fun creative. thanks pam and mike!

DESIGN + PRODUCTION + COPYWRITING + ART DIRECTION. in an effort to increase their presence in the canadian market – egencia came to me with an interesting idea of targeting executive assistants and those who take care of corporate travel and event co-ordination. cheekily – rewarding the ones who do the leg-work!

DESIGN + PRODUCTION agency AIR MILES. i was fortunate to repeatedly work on the quarterly campaign that gave collectors the opportunity to earn extra miles or maybe even visit sponsors they never had before. creative and production of 10 regional coupon books consisting of approximately 120 coupons – and their barcodes (national and regional) and in-store co-branded pos (various sized signage, standees, shelf-talkers). produced in english and french.
